Getting the Most From Your Wear and Carry License
Carrying in the US - Although the state of Maryland offers no reciprocity with any other state in the US, you can still get the most bang for your buck by applying for permits from these 2 states once you have obtained your Maryland Wear and Carry permit. This will allow you to legally conceal carry (restrictions may apply) in 38/50 US states.
Pennsylvania - You can apply for a Pennsylvania non-resident permit online with any county that offer non-resident permitting. Our suggestion is York County https://yorkcountypa.gov/1009/License-to-Carry.
You will need to upload a copy of your State ID and Maryland Wear and Carry permit, provide two non family references, and pay a $25 fee. The permit only takes a few days to process, but note you will have to travel to Pennsylvania to get your permit.
Florida - You can apply for your Florida CCW permit upon successful completion of your Maryland Wear and Carry course. You will need to get a set of ink fingerprints done by a law enforcement agency, then submit the clear and legible set of fingerprints on the original fingerprint card with your application. FL will send you fingerprint cards upon request via their website. You must also submit proof of competency with a firearm, this can be a copy of your certificate of completion from our Maryland Wear and Carry Course. These permits will allow you relatively free travel throughout much of the United States without having to spend money on additional classes. There are a couple other states that will allow you to get a permit with your Maryland Wear & Carry but they will not offer you anything that you are not already getting!
Gun laws are constantly changing and new legislation is being introduce all the time, so be sure to do your own research before traveling, and consult this awesome resource that the USCCA has provided before traveling anywhere with your handgun.
