A Gun in the Hand is Worth Two in the Store

Looking to defend yourself and aren’t sure of the best gun for it? This is a common concern for many people. If you look on Reddit you may feel like you can’t protect yourself with anything short of a $2k Gucci Glock, or a $4k AR-15. While these guns likely would work to protect yourself, many people don’t consider the obvious choice right in front of them, the gun you may already have.

While Roland Special Glocks are great, the gun your grandpa gave you that he bought new in 1950 might be the gun you already have. Many people inherit guns and don’t think of them as options for self defense. While your grandpa’s single action .44 magnum might not be the optimal choice for keeping TERFs out of your apartment, the gun you have is worth more than the highest end AR-15 that you don’t have.

Lets be real, a single action revolver, or a bolt action .30-06, or a 12ga. with a 30 inch barrel are by no means the guns you should go buy to protect yourself from humans, however if you already have them, learning how to use them to protect yourself is a strong thing to consider. You will have to put in more work and effort into effectively using than you would if you had a modern firearm, but that work might be worth it to you as you save up for a modern firearm. The skills you develop learning to shoot an antiquated gun well will translate to shooting a modern gun expertly.

At Solidarity, we instruct on all gun types, so we will help you learn to protect yourself with what you have. Register for a private class and we will teach you to get the most out of whatever weird boomer gun you ended up with.
