Wear and Carry Class

Description

Upon completion, this course satisfies the Maryland state requirements to apply for a Maryland Wear and Carry license, (the necessary license to carry a handgun.) This course also satisfies requirements for Maryland HQL. Class is two days with the first day being classroom instruction and the second day being live fire. The classroom covers handgun function and operation, safe handling, and applicable Maryland law. The live fire includes hands on training and shooting qualification test.

Details and requirements

  • 2 day course

  • Approximately 8 hours of classroom instruction on day 1. Approximately 8 hours of instruction and live fire practice on day two.

  • To qualify for the W&C students must fire 25 rounds at a B-27 target (pictured on the left next to Rob), scoring hits with at least 18 rounds. Target distance is 15 yards (45 ft)

  • Students should bring ~150 rounds of ammunition and their own firearm. If students don’t own their own firearm please let us known on the registration form.

  • Students should bring their own eye and ear protection.

  • Students should dress comfortably with close toe shoes

  • Computers for notes are permitted

Class Fee - $300
Range Fee - $40/hour (max of 4 hours)
The average live fire range portion for this class runs approximately 2 hours but students are allowed up to 4 hours to receive instruction, practice, and pass the qualifier.
